Dear Mrs. Valentine,
I was very glad to hear from Sgt. J.R.M. Valentine, in August 1942, that he had saved his life with one of our chutes.
I apologise for not having written before, but due to supply restrictions we have been unable to obtain the small gold Caterpillar Pin to which Sgt. Valentine is entitled, and which he requested us to send to the above address.
As I regret it now seems unlikely that this Pin will be available until after the War, I am sending a membership certificate for Sgt. Valentine, with our best wishes for his early return home, and the assurance that his Pin will follow at the first opportunity.
Yours sincerely,
