Description

See all Archive items

320 Squadron was formed with Dutch personnel in June 1940 at RAF Pembroke Dock. It formed part of Coastal Command with Ansons and Hudsons including a spell at RAF Bircham Newton until it was merged into 321 Squadron. The combined squadron continued operating within Coastal Command until March 1943. It then transferred to RAF Methwold and then RAF Attlebridge in 2 Group and converted to B-25s. However in June 1943, before becoming operational in Bomber Command, it was re-assigned to the Second Tactical Air Force with which it remained until the end of the war.
