My Dearest Darling
I received two letters from you today darling, and another one a few days ago. I hope you are receiving mine allright [sic] now. Thanks for the newspaper cutting darling. I’ll have to keep that safe. Was’nt [sic] it
[page break]

funny that my pal’s engagement announcement should be in the same day? I bet a lot of people I know were shaken when they read that. I do’nt [sic] think they would have believed me if I told them myself. I can see me being teased to death when I come home. I w’ont [sic] mind though/. [sic] It was the only thing I wanted to happen on my leave. I’ll never regret it as long as I live. I love you so much darling, and ever will as long as I live. You need’nt [sic] worry about that darling, and I know you feel the same.
Well darling nothing very exiting has happened lately. We have been terribly busy lately, the ground exams start tomorrow. I had my last flyng test this week and I got through alright, much to my surprise, it will shake me more though if I get through the ground subjects. We have been doing some night flying lately too. We have to do five hours, including one hour solo. I have finished my solo. We do five cross-country flights here. I have done three, including a solo flight to Regina and back, a distance of about eighty miles from here. It was very interesting it took me an hour each way, and I stayed there for about half an hour. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.
I’m getting to like the Camp a little better by now, but I’ll be out of here very soon again, in about a weeks time in fact. Then I’ll have to get used to the other place again. I hope it w’ont [sic] be so far from civilization as this one. Well darling I have completed nearly 1/3 of my course over here. It w’ont [sic] be very long will it? I’ll be back home again and near you before you know it. I’ll have so much to tell you and make up for when I do come, so be prepared. I still love you as much as ever darling

and always thinking of you, and the fun we’ll have together when I come to you. Think of me sometimes darling and keep on loving me. Please do’nt [sic] worry about me. Please remember me to mam and grandad, give them my love, also everybody at the office, but keep most of it for yourself darling.
Yours forever
Your darling
Dave
