Thank you very much for your letter and kind remarks.

I have changed my occupation and am now serving in a Squadron, which makes it is impossible to make any plans, and often to get in touch with you at all.
I am sorry, therefore, that I was not able to accept you [sic] invitation to come down.

If ever I get the opportunity in the future, I would very much like to arrange another meeting.
