Statement of Pietro Mucci about some Allied servicemen
Title
Statement of Pietro Mucci about some Allied servicemen
Description
Pietro Mucci claims that on 9 September 1943 he was summoned at Castagno, in the Pieve a Celle area, near Pistoia, because eleven English escapers arrived and he was the only person who could speak English. They said they were released from a camp, and accepted Pietro’s help. At first, they lived in a country house, but then, when the situation worsened, Pietro persuaded them to hide in the brush. Unfortunately, on 23 October fascist militiamen recaptured them.
