Thursday,

My dear David,

Congratulations once more! We were all thrilled to hear the news from Joyce. Trev joins me in sending all good wishes. I am sure if Frances goes to Buckingham Palace her battle cry will be "more". She is having a great time with all the animals, her especial favourite being a small black cat in the same condition as "Montgomery", but it placidly submits to being dragged round by the middle! We took her to play on the sands at Aberdovy [sic] where she was able to make real mud pies, & insisted on being buried up to knees & pretending she was a motor car!!

[page break]

The fishing has improved the last few days and Panga was able to go off to his cricket match with a good basket full, and so save his reputation.

Its pretty rotten to have to take 3 days of the best fishing weather [deleted] tra [/deleted] to trail back for a match.

We are thoroughly enjoying every minute and wish it could be twice as long, though I shudder to think of the resulting waist measurements if such were the case!!

With love from us all to you both.

yrs.

Mary.
