346 (Guyenne) Squadron [entry point]

346 (Guyenne) Squadron was one of only two Free French Squadrons to fly operationally in Bomber Command. The squadron was an original French unit and fought until the fall of France in 1940 when it moved to North Africa. 346 Squadron reformed as heavy bomber squadrons in 4 Group at RAF Elvington in May 1944, equipped with Halifaxes. The squadron and its aircraft were transferred to the French Air Force in October 1945.
