Description

RAF Penrhos was a Bomber Command training station located on the Lleyn Peninsular in Gwynedd 15 miles (24 kms) west of Porthmadog.

Opened in 1937 RAF Penrhos was mainly used as a training station for Bomber Command. During World War Two multiple units used the station including Flying Training Schools, Air Observer Schools, Bombing and Gunnery Schools and Advanced Flying Units. Aircraft used included Harrows, Defiants, Ansons, Blenheims, Battles and Whitleys.
