AIRMAN'S PSALM

The following inspiring "Airman's Psalm" has been paraphrased upon the 23rd Psalm by the Rev. F. Stafford (minister of High-Street Congregational Church, Wellingborough), chaplain of the 378 "Mannock" Squadron Air Training Corps, and is proving exceedingly popular.

The Lord is my Pilot; I shall not fail.
He guideth me through the clouds,
He bereth me into lofty regions,
He exalteth my spirit.
He inspireth me by His Presence and His fearlessness.
Yea, though "flak" engulf me, and death draw night,
I will never be afraid whilst Thou art with me, my Strength and my Confidence.
Thou does preserve me in the presence of mine enemies.
Thou speakest quiet words, I am content.
Surely sun and star shall guide and save me throughout each flight.
And I will trust in the help of my God for Ever.
