Heinkel HE 112.
A 1933 German Air Ministry requirement for a monoplane fighter drew responses from four manufacturers. The Heinkel 112 & the Messerschmitt 109 were the preferred aircraft, the 109 finally being the selected type. However the HE112 was ordered & pre-production aircraft were authorised. The HE 111 [sic] saw limited operational service and many were exported including 12 to the Japanese Navy. Hungary, Romania & Spain also took delivery.
