Dornier DO 217.
The success achieved by the Do 17 series of aircraft led, in 1937, to a proposal for a scaled up version of the basic design to increase the range, the weight & the bomb carrying capacity. Prototypes were ordered in 1937 powered by two Daimler Benz DB 601A 12 cylinder liquid cooled engines. Maximum speed 273 mph. Max range 1740 miles. Ceiling loaded 24,600 feet.
