BLOHM-VOSS Ha 140
Blohm Und Voss HA 140.
In 1935 Blohm Und Voss were invited to submit proposals for a twin engined maritime reconnaisance [sic] & torpedo bombing floatplane. During September 1935 they submitted designs & in November an order for three prototypes was issued. The first prototype flew for the first time on September 30th 1937. Following trials of all three prototypes at Travemunde it was decided that the Heinkel 115 was a more acceptable aircraft, & no order was placed with Blohm & Voss. The characteristics of the HA 140 both on the water & in the air left something to be desired, & on September 21st 1939 the HA 140 programme was officially terminated. Powered by two BMW 132K nine cylinder radial engines.
