Powered by two BMW 14 cylinder radial air cooled engines.

AR232B. (Arado).
By the beginning of 1941 it was realised that the inclusion of the Focke-Wulf 190 in the fighter production programme would make heavy demands on the BMW engine, and, accordingly Arado was issued with instructions to replace the BMW 801’s by four BMW 323 9 cylinder radials in its AR 232. The AR 232 V3 was completed & flown in May 1942. To accommodate the additional pair of engines, the wing centre section was elongated by 5feet 7 inches.
