The residents' lounge of the Falcon Hotel at Milchester, Lincs., about 6 p.m., on a Saturday in September, 1942.

Act II.

Scene I. – The same, about three hours later.
(The curtain will be lowered for 2 mins. to indicate the passing of time)

Scene II – The same, about 5-30 the following morning.

Act III.

The same, about noon the same day (Sunday).
