[badly damaged letter]
This letter was sent by John Valentine informing that he was a prisoner of war. Severe damage makes it all but illegible. Date appears to be 1.6.42. States he is fit and well, and well fed thanks to the Red Cross. Asks for a set of underwear and 3 tooth brushes, and says that there are no limits on the number of letters he can receive.
