SIEGE OF LENINGRAD LIFTED

SCHLÜSSELBURG CAPTURED AFTER 7-DAY BATTLE

FIGHTING IN STREETS OF KAMENSK

ROUT OF FOUR GERMAN DIVISIONS

After seven days’ heavy fighting the Russians have captured Schlüsselburg and raised the siege of Leningrad.

A special announcement issued in Moscow last night stated that the troops of the Volkhov and Leningrad fronts joined forces yesterday. Several large fortified places have been captured.

On the south-western front Russian forces advancing after the capture of Millerovo have crossed the northern Donetz and taken the railway station of Kamensk. Fighting is now in progress inside the town.
