RAF Madley was located in Herefordshire, 6 miles (10 kms) south-west of Hereford.

The station opened in August 1941. It was primarily utilised by 4 Signals School, later re-named 4 Radio School, to train wireless operators using Proctors and Dominies. 8 Anti-Aircraft Co-operation unit, with Lysanders, also used the station.
