Description

RAF Silverstone was a Bomber Command training station located on the Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire border, 10 miles (16 kms) south-west of Northampton.

It was opened in 1943 and used until after the war by 17 Operational Training Unit using Wellingtons. It is currently used as a motor racing circuit.
