RAF Spanhoe was located in Northamptonshire, 4 miles (7 kms) east of Uppingham.

It was opened in 1943 and used by the United States Army Air Force as a troop carrier station. C-47s from the station were used to drop paratroops for the Normandy and Arnhem campaigns.
