RAF Stockport (also known as Woodford) was located in Cheshire, 7 miles (11 kms) north of Macclesfield.

The site opened in 1924 and was used by Avro as an aircraft production site. Aircraft including the Anson, Manchester, Lancaster, Lincoln, York, Shackleton and Vulcan were all designed and built at Avro’s Woodford site. The Avro Heritage Museum now occupies part of the site.
