Dear Mam & Dad,
Thanks for the letter which I received a week ago. I have been quite busy the last week or so and done quite a bit of flying. I was sorry to hear about our Sidney’s report, I do not think it would do him any harm to go to bed two or three hours earlier than he usually does.
By the time you get this I should imagine my dad has got his green house or at least heard where it has
[page break]
got to[deleted]o[/deleted].
I was glad to hear about Fred and I would have liked to have seen him drunk. I am writting [sic] to him now I have his address so I should get a personal account of it.
It dosn’t [sic] matter about the bike but as I am likely to be here some time I am going to get a second hand one. It is too far to talk across to the flight and back two or three times a day and it wastes a lot of time which I could spend flying.
I have sent my washing off this morning and I would like
[page break]
it back as soon as you can as I may be leaving here to go on a course for a week or so but I shall return here after I have finished it.
Last Saturday I managed to borrow a bike and a few of us went to Woodstock, a village close by, and had quite a good time at a dance and social they have there every Saturday. Last night I went into Kidlington and saw “Orchestra Wives” but I had seen it before in Canada.
Most of the other evenings I have not finished flying until late so I have stayed on

the camp.
A couple of days ago I walked into the mess and the first person I saw was “Happy” Parsons one of the boys who was at Paulson with me. He came home a few days before I did and [deleted]h[/deleted]as he broke his hand just before Christmas he has been held up quite a bit.
I guess thats all for now
Remember me to all
Your loving son
Lewis
