Dear Mam and Dad,

I received your letter and the parcel last Friday. Thanks for the sweets and the scarf, I did wonder where the scarf had got to.

Things are much the same down here and I spend most of my time reading library books. At the moment I am try [sic] to get a bike as it is such a long way

around the station.

I have not been in to Norwich yet but I think I shall go there one day this week to have a look round. There is usually a dance on the station two or three times a week and there is a film on at the cinema every evening so we do not bad for entertainment.

In the airgraph from Hats he says he is almost certain he will not get married before he comes home. He would like to but as his mother and father do not want him to and he is not sure of his

financial position in England he will not bother.

I guess thats all for now remember me to all

Your loving son

Lewis

P.S. The guy I met on the station going to Harrogate was Henessey not Elley. Henessey is at Coltishall with me now and Elley is somewhere in Lincoln.
