Writes that he had now moved to Wilmslow and been promoted to LAC. Mentions compatriots who came with him to new location. Dear Mam & Dad,
As you will see from my address I am now at Wimslow near Manchester. I also have got my L.A.C [drawing] and get paid for it so in about three weeks when you get the pay book you’ll be able to draw 14/- a week, I still have 24/6 a week for my self so I’m O.K.
When we got back from leave we thought 25 of us would be sent here to Wimslow but the posting was cancelled and only five of us came, including Sayer & Tyler we’ve lost Rusty & Rogers but I’m still with Sayer, I met him at Lords on 21st July.
I think Scarborough was better than this [this is a camp just like the one at Norton] but its not the food or the hut its because there’s nothing to do in the little village and we are only allowed five miles from camp. Well you can write back now & tell Fred & Hats to write because I may not have time to write to them until I settle down and we only came yesterday, Saturday
P.T.O.

I bought my L A C badges on Friday and it took me over an hour to stitch two on. I am now the same rank as our Jim in the air force, but I think I’m better paid eh!?
Well that all write back.
Your loving son
Lewis
P.S. There is not a cigarette in the county here.
When you reply you have to put your name & address on the back of the envelope or I won’t get it. Tell Fred & Hats.
When is it Hats birthday, I think its next Sunday
