458 Royal Australian Air Force Squadron was formed in July 1941 in Australia and in August 1941 had moved to RAF Holme-on-Spalding Moor as part of 1 Group. Flying Wellingtons it served with Bomber Command until March 1942 after which it was posted to Egypt and became a torpedo-bomber unit, disbanding in Gibraltar in June 1945.
