Opened in 1936 RAF Staverton was used for training for the next 10 years. Units based there included 2 Elementary Flying Training School, 6 Air Observers School and 6 Advanced Flying Unit. Aircraft flown included Tiger Moths and Ansons. From July 1940 to July 1941 225 Squadron were also based at RAF Staverton with Lysanders. The site is now Gloucestershire Airport.
