DUNKIRK’S GUN POSTS RAIDED

SWOOP ON CHANNEL

R.A.F. fighters continued their offensive patrols over the Channel and occupied territory yesterday. Barges and gun positions in the Dunkirk area were among the targets attacked.
Three enemy fighters were destroyed in combat and three of our fighters are missing, the Air Ministry announced.
[Inserted] X [/inserted] Aircraft of the Bomber Command attacked from a low altitude a well-defended convoy of supply ships off the Frisian island of Terschelling on Wednesday night.
[Inserted] X [/inserted] Shipping off the Dutch coast was also the target of Hudson aircraft of the Coastal Command. Channel ports were attacked and mines laid in enemy waters.
Four aircraft of the Bomber Command and four of the Coastal Command are missing.
