Description

RAF Mauripur was located in what is now Pakistan, 4 miles (6 kms) north-west of Karachi. Prior to independence and partition in 1947 RAF Mauripur was in British India.

The station opened in 1942 and primarily used as a transit station on flights from Britain out to the Far East. From October 1943 117 Squadron flying C-47s was based there in a transport role to supply troops fighting behind Japanese lines.
