42 Squadron [entry point]
Description
42 Squadron began World War Two in Coastal Command as a torpedo bomber squadron equipped with Vildebeests. It converted to Beauforts in April 1940. In June 1942 it transferred, first briefly to North Africa and then to Burma where it used Blenheims and Hurricanes as fighter-bombers for the remainder of the war.
