Dear Lewis.

Here we are again and Easter gone we had it very rainy and windy. today is much better sun shineing [sic] and not quite as rough. What kind of Easter did you have I supp ose [sic] it was all work no holiday’s at your works’ Sidney and I went to Auston for the day Auntie Bet and family was there for the weekend it was just the same the walk to South Auston with the flower’s and then tea and home we came back early this year 6.30 Bus as Sheffield had only Monday holiday and no extra buses were run Hebberds had got two field’s of sheep with lambs they were little bueatys [sic] and such a lot of black one’s amongs [sic] them and spotted ones like

we saw in Chatsworth park we saw Randgiy he as not altered a bite [sic] still the small pale face but he as grown a bite [sic] our Sidney like a young elephant by the side of him. Last Sunday the circle went a ramble to Hathersage Renee went and about a dozen more Fred Lockwood’s Rause Roper Ecclelstone [deleted] othe [/deleted] usual crowd. we havent see [sic] Fred lately he told Renee he was coming down poor old lad had an interview with the Army and is going in the Re E I think he is very disappointed at not getting in the RAF. we havnt [sic] seen Hats for the Past ten days I think he must be busy elsewhere I saw Jack Glossop yesterday he was on 7 days he gets quite fat got a tash too and the Oxford accent dearie me the RAF have certainly learn’t him that. Dad saw Uncle Lewis last week the boy near them come’s back in a fortnight he said. there was three photo’s of boy’s in the Star from Alabama that had got the

American wings and British one too one of the boys was Hall from Dinnington.

Well dear how are you keeping well and fit we hope how do you like the new school is it as good as the old one. Uncle Jim is still in the Orkneys he is expecting leave in about 6 weeks so is bringing the bride down with him to Grandma’s this time so you can guess its going to be a busy time Grandma is making him a tea as none of the family was at the wedding the bride (Auntie Betty) sent Auntie Bet and I phots [sic] of the wedding group last week they are very good she looks alright is smaller than Jim so you guess she is not very big she is working on Aircrafts [sic]. The Canadian Ice hockey as just come on the wireless Red wings and Detroit, what a noice [sic] they make I think there is no news this time dear All wish to be remembered to you Dad bathed our Lyne this morning and he nearly had to swim for it Dad send his love and we are hoping for a letter soon
