Harrogate
Yorks.

Dear Mam and Dad,

As you will see I am now back at Harrogate again and quite happy to be here. I received you [sic] letter with the stamps enclosed just before I left Whitley Bay but I have not got the parcel yet but I guess it is following me around.

This time I am stationed in the Grand Hotel which is really comfortable after Whitley Bay although the food is not so good. We are having quite a life here we do not go on parade until 9:30 and then we are dismissed almost immediately and we do nothing for the rest of the day. I hope it stays

like this until we leave here. I can not tell you much in this letter but we may be in Harrogate quite a time so I will try and get to see you, probably some time next week.

As we were paid just before we left Whitley Bay I still have some money left but thanks all the same for that “coin” which I have not received as yet.

I have not heard definitely about leave at Christmas yet but there are a lot of rumours going around that we will be able to go home but we shall have to wait and see. A few of the boys here have received their promotion and as they are in the same position as myself I have put in an application for it so I hope to be a Flight Sergeant for Christmas.

I guess thats about all for now.

Hope to be seeing you soon.

Your loving son.
