Dear Ma.
Well ma here we are again Well and in good spirits Don’t forget to let me know when you get the allotment [indecipherable word]. Put a pound a week in the Post Office savings for me. Later I’ll Have a Lump Sum sent to you for a holiday. We are Properly Settled in our new compound now I want this money handy when I come home for new clothes etc, that’s why I say the Post Office, We are still very short of smokes here but little else, I’ve received your first Parcel O.K. I Had a letter with snaps from Winnie yesterday give Her my thanks will you Please. We have had more snow during the last few days but it has stopped now though it is Very cold yet next month should be warm. I have’nt Heard from Norman yet. Please thank Mrs Hinds for that Ruffle for me it was very good of Her. Don’t forget about the Invalid Parcels. The Red Cross Parcels are still Very unsatisfactory. I must [indecipherable word] now Hoping you are well
