Dear Sidney,

You may or not be aware that a 166 Squadron association exists and reunions are held from time to time. Last year a plaque was put into the passenger terminal at Kirmington now Grimsby Airport, a church service was held and we had a Lancaster fly over which brought back many memories.

The organiser of these [deleted word] reunion a S/LDR JIM WRIGHT is compiling a history of the Squadron and has obtained battle orders of

several raids the Squadron took part in. I made a request for copies of these we took part in and Jim has produced these.

I have had copies made which I am sure you will like to have. It is interesting how our crew climbed up the list and on one raid we had a standby Rear Gunner when ours was off sick.

I used to send and receive a Christmas card from Jock the Flight Engineer but have not received one for some time so must assume he has passed on.

and am looking forward to a rest from work though I have plenty of interests to keep me going.

Perhaps you have been to the Bomber Command Exhibition at Hendon where they have a Lanc and also a reproduction of 1 Group H/Q's showing the battle board with Kirmington clearly visible.

Hope you and your family are well my regards to you and to your sister.

Yours sincerely
