Hello Dad:
Just a line to let you know I am getting along fine. Receiving mail quite regular now, about 5 or 6 days to come over.
I understand you are standing up to the work quite well this year but still have trouble with your back at times. It pays to take it easy rather than be in poor health.
Threshing will be coming along soon if you haven’t already finished. They are busy with harvest around here now. Seems to be a big crop.
Your pullets will have started to lay by now. Sorry to here [sic] of the loss of a big % of your cockerels
[page break]
A very sensitive thing to raise are chickens. Apples will soon be ready to pick, another month wealthier should be on. I’ll bet I’ll hardly know the young orchard now, growing very fast no doubt.
My trips are going in very fast now, over half through my tour which consists of approximately 40 trips. We have to instruct for a while, and then come leave at home
Leave is coming again soon and will be visiting Jack I guess may get to see George Werry also.
Well I must get down to the section and check my guns for today, a lot depends on wether [sic] they work or not.
[page break]
News is very good and should soon finish with Germany I believe.
Take good care of yourself and don’t work too hard.
All the best
Glenn.
