Hello Dad:
Well its Friday morning almost dinner time. Rather a dreary day, looks like some more rain again. Had a letter from Uncle Jack yesterday, mentioned being down to see you recently. Also one from Jesse saying he spent a weekend with you folks. Mail is coming quite regular had one from Gwen and another this past week also.
Things are much the same here. Not very busy lately. The engineer of our crew fell off a motor cycle and bruised himself up so we can’t fly until he is better now. A week or so I should think

My Commission came through from group this past week so I am now a P/O (pilot officer) The rank doesn’t mean much at this job but I get 6.25 a day instead of the 3.25 I used to get. Living accommodations are a bit better, bat man to shine shoes and buttons sort of a life of leisure. Dora’s allowance is also increased so it all helps.
Suppose the apples are ready to pick now. Understand they are of good quality but no great quantity this year. Glad to hear the potatoes turned out quite well this year. Now your daughter has her license I don’t suppose mother and Gwen are ever home anymore. However

Gwen will be able to make a lot of short trips for you now.
Hens should be laying by now eggs are pretty scarce over here. Hens are all moulting so they say. We get a few from the odd farmer around to have as bed time snacks.
Farmers over here are having an awful job getting the last of the harvest in as it rains most every other day and grain is growing in the stooks. The grain will be a very poor sample when they do get it in.
Well that’s the story for now, time to go down for my dinner. Hoping this finds you in good health and the stomach behaving satisfactorily.
All the best, Glenn.
