24 Apr 1944: Hello Folks:
Well I'm a day late. It's Monday noon hour I was kept very busy yesterday and could not write. I flew last night and just got up about an hour ago. It's a grand day again with lots of sunshine.
I moved to another station on Tuesday [Ed. 18 Apr] but it is only 14 miles from where I was. I don't like it quite as well but I'll get along OK .
I haven't received any mail this week accept an anniversary card from Dora1. I am hoping for some letters soon. The Statesman hasn't shown up at all yet.
Received a letter from Bob Scott. He and his brother are both over here now. Hope to see them in the near future.
I suppose you are very busy at home now. Gwen and Grant will soon be out of school to help you again. Hope your chickens are OK. By the way I received an airograph from Aunt Verna this week. They are all well and happy.
I am still training and will be for some time. The food is very good here and I'm overweight. I have a day off on Wednesday and may get a photo taken. I will send you a copy. A year ago today I had my picture taken in Oshawa. That was quite a day for us. The weather is much the same here today as it was a year ago at home.
I am flying this afternoon and again tonight. They sure keep us at it over here.
I had the misfortune to lose Mrs Barnett's sister’s address in Nottingham so please send it again. I may get time to call there sometime.
How is that ?flashy? black team of [?dash?] behaving this spring! Does Grant keep busy with the brasso now? [Ed. shining up the brass harness?] A year ago yesterday I rode one of them home from the town line.
I guess Arch is home now. Last I heard from Dora he was in Ottawa. Must soon close for now. Send me some snaps when you can. Hope to be home real soon.
Love Glenn
