Rowland writes that he has flown solo. He has been socialising with a family that moved to Canada from Leeds. The cotton fields are full of African Americans doing the labouring.

Rowland writes he is on leave in Toronto where the weather is very Spring like. He really likes Toronto and describes it in detail.

The telegram advises he is OK and a letter is in the post.

The card shows RAF aircraft on aerial manoeuvres. He wishes his dad happy birthday.

He has just flown solo and he has been subjected to blacking with boot polish then thrown in the shower. He said he didn't mind.
He has been receiving mail from the UK.

He writes that he is about to sail somewhere that he is not allowed to tell.
