German language propaganda leaflet

Title

German language propaganda leaflet

Description

The leaflet refutes the claim in the German press that ships forming part of British convoys are going to their death. Instead, there are said to be significant U-boat losses, mirroring 1917-18 when reporting of losses was suppressed. Gaps are being filled with untrained naval officers and crews from the Hitler Youth.

Sailors from Kiel, Hamburg and Bremen send their greetings from England, presumably as prisoners of war.

A satirical cartoon, called “Who are the plutocrats?” has a quotation from Robert Ley from 1933.
