My dear Mum and Dad, During the last few days from you letters June 12, July 5, 25 and 29th, and one from Joy of June 12. also a couple from Sheila. I have been receiving your Rothman’s parcels, but they are taking quite a long time. I HAVE received your December parcel, also the uniform one, but no others. Very glad to hear about the bank balance and all the other news – very sorry to hear about Jimmy Webber – remember me to the chaps who can remember me! also 5AK. So glad to hear that “Robbie” has been getting some cigarettes from you – Jack Bell, who is in my hut, was very pleased to hear about Madeleine & is looking forward to the photograph. I have just had a note telling me that Joad and Jean’s books are on the way. Last week in the Theater we had “French without Tears” it was very good, - this week there is a Band Show and we have complete programme up to Christmas – Here’s hoping we won’t have to use it. My Spanish exam has not turned up yet – but maybe I’ll be able to take it in England. The weather hasn’t been soon good lately but I guess I can’t grumble. The photographs were wizard & those of Joy and Clive in the garden were really delightful, - she doesn’t look a day over eighteen. The question re. my first days in England is a delicate one! However more hereafter. Must stop, Tons of Love to all, John.
M.
