Title
Course work document - wanted --- better bomber pilots
Description
Written while on Empire Central Flying School course number 10. Comments on standards of current crews arriving on the squadrons could only be described as average quality. This was due in part to extended periods of waiting and idleness in the training system. The essay outlines a few suggestions which he considered essential which all pilots should have instilled in them during training before joining a bomber squadron. Then covers required flying standards, then gives a long discussions on: the need for accurate instrument flying; engine handling; initiative and self-reliance; discipline; and finally leadership. Makes suggestion of how training should encompass these points.
