135 items. The collection concerns Squadron Leader Norman A J Mackie DSO, DFC (b. 1920, 88410 Royal Air Force) and contains his log books, correspondence, documents, and photographs. He flew operations as a pilot with 83 Squadron and was shot down on his second tour after 52 operations. He evaded to Switzerland and subsequently re-escaped through France to Spain. On return to Great Britain, he retrained on Mosquito and flew a further 40 operations on 571 Squadron. He continued to fly in the RAF after the war.

The collection was loaned to the IBCC Digital Archive for digitisation by Laura Carter and catalogued by Nigel Huckins.
