Sergt. W.O.P./A.G. John Albert Taplin, aged 21, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Taplin, of 12, Whitesmead-road, Stevenage, is reported missing.
His parents received this information on Thursday, the telegram also saying that further news is expected.
Sergt. Taplin has been with the R.A.F. for over three years, joining when he was 17. Before that he was employed in the office of the E.S.A., Stevenage, and was a member of their sports club.
He was educated at Letchmore-road School.
