Reports that following Canniff’s death he was buried in Grave 34 in the English section of the Military Cemetery at Westduin. His was buried next to two comrades, Sergeant Johnson in Grave 33 and Sergeant Collingwood in Grave 35.

Sir,

I am directed to inform you that whilst the Department is reluctant again to refer to the loss of your son, Sergeant James Canniff, Royal Air Force, it is considered that you would wish to know that a report has been received from the International Red Cross Committee, which states that he is buried in Grave 34, in the English section of the Military Cemetery at Westduin, The Hague, Holland.

Two of his comrades, Sergeant Johnson and Sergeant Collingwood, are buried in Graves 33 and 35 respectively.

It is hoped that this information received after the lapse of so long a period, may bring some comfort to you in your bereavement.
