Dear Mam & Dad,
I received the bike O.K. on the train; had our Sidney been cleaning it? I wanted it because I was reserve on a posting and there was a chance that I would be moving but as we were not on it it looks as if I shall be staying at Lindholme for the course now.
The shaving kit arrived here, I think it was Thursday so now I look a bit cleaner.
We have absolutely nothing to do here and apart from two parades per day we are quite free.

Now I have the bike I am able to get around a bit better and Thorne is only four miles away so we can get there quite easily. This weekend I think we shall start the course which will be quite a relief as the whole crew are getting fed up of doing nothing. It will be quite a change to be flying again.
I hope my dad’s back is better and that he is starting work. It looks as though it must have turned worse if he is not working this week.
I guess thats all for now. Johny Rae and Arthur Chapman (farmer) are waiting for me to cycle into Hatfield with them,
