Dear Mam & Dad,
As you will see I am still at Harrogate and although a few chaps have been posted I do not think I shall be leaving for a week or so.
Last Saturday Jack Haines and I went to Leeds as it is the only big town in bounds. Leeds is not a bad place but the place is dead in the evening. This last week I have been to the cinema a couple of times and last night I went and saw a [sic] opera “Mikada” [sic] which was very good.
During the day we do lectures which are very good with all the latest equipment. Today we had dinghy drill and you can imagine what it is lik [sic] getting into a dinghy in a

swimming pool [deleted] wh [/deleted] with full[deleted]y[/deleted] flying suit on. The chaps who could not swim had a devil of a time.
Tonight it is raining pretty hard so I do not think I shall be going out so I shall write a few letters.
I have not got my crown yet but all the boy who have it due to them are binding about it and it looks as though we should get it pretty soon.
I wrote to you, I think it was last Wednesday, and up to now I have not had a reply in fact I have had no mail at all since I came here.
I have not found a laundry in Harrogate yet so I shall send my laundry home tomorrow by registered mail so please send it back as soon as possible as I do not know for certain when I shall be leaving.
I guess thats all for now

Remember me to all at home and at 69 & 6 and tell our Cyril to write please.
Your loving son
