Dear Mam and Dad,
After a grand holiday down in Chicago we are now back at Paulson flying. We really had a swell time and met a lot of people all of who expect us to write to them.
Last week I got your letter and one from Aunt Clara. You say in your letter that you have not heard from me for three weeks; well I have been writting [sic] at [underlined] least [/underlined] once a fortnight. By the way, I sent three photographs sea mail, have you received them yet. My Aunt Clara mentions some photographs but I do not know which she means.
We have been having India [sic] summer here for the last week but last night it turned really cold so I guess we shall be having snow quite soon.
I now fly a Blenheim IV regularly so you can bet I like it. Its a super plane with a powered gun turret and forward firing guns as well as a bomb load and are they fast?
Yesterday and today Creene and I [deleted] went [/deleted] are on a forty eight. So yesterday we went horse riding
[page break]
for three hours so this morning we are suffering from aching backs and other sore places, but we did really enjoy it so we shall go riding again next forty eight. Today we are recuperating but this afternoon we are going to get two rifles and go duck and rabbit shooting.
I guess by now Hats is AC2 Stevenson, I wish I had the chance to give his flight some drill like we had at Scarborough, still I guess he will get his share before he’s through. I’m sure glad its him thats got it to do not me I think I have had my share. I hope Hats gets through as he would be terribly disappointed if he did not.
I cant think of anything [deleted] to [/deleted] else to add, tell Aunt Clara I shall be writting [sic] to her.
Rember [sic] me to all at 69. 52.
Your loving son
Lewis.
P.S. Hows my dad getting on, has he been called up yet?
P.P.S. Ask our Sidney how he likes irrigular [sic] French verbs? and who is his form master and House master?
