Dear Mr Ellis,
My wife & I feel for you in the great anxiety of waiting for news of the Boys who are missing We have had no news at present but have very great hopes of hearing they are all alive and well. We did not have the pleasure of seeing your Son but we feel they were a splendid Crew and all suited to one another and would go all out to help each other to safety which gives us greater hopes for their safety. now.
Hopeing [sic] you will hear soon to relieve you of a heartache and give you a feeling you will see your Son again

soon. If you have occasion to come to London you will be welcome if you would like to give us a call Bounds Green Tube Station is the nearest to us. With Kindest regards to your Wife & yourself.
