John Holden’s Pilot’s Flying Log Book from 20th June 1942 until 3rd May 1944. Trained as a pilot at 15 Elementary Flying Training School, 35 Elementary Flying Training School, 41 Service Flying Training School, 7 Elementary Flying Training School, 6 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit, 30 Operational Training Unit, 1656 Conversion Unit, 1 Lancaster Finishing School. Operational posting to 103 Squadron in April 1944.
On his second operation on 3rd/4th May 1944 his aircraft was posted as missing.

Served at RAF Carlisle, RCAF Neepawa, RCAF Weyburn, RAF Desford, RAF Little Rissington, RAF Pershore, RAF Hixon, RAF Lindholme, RAF Hemswell, RAF Elsham Wolds.

Aircraft flown were Tiger Moth DH82, Harvard, Anson, Oxford, Wellington, Halifax, Lancaster III.

He flew two night bombing operations, failing to return from the second of these. His targets were Essen and Mailly-le-Camp.
