2. FEB 1948
Dear Ma, This week has been good regarding my Mail. I’ve Received two from you and three letters from Winnie. It is like spring here just now; four of the boys have even started to sun-bathe. This time last year we were only half way through our period of three feet of snow. We are told that we have only a short wet and cold spell to get over during Feb and then summer will be upon us again. The Valley has lost its’ drab appearance already and is nearly all green again
[censored text]
We get a Red Cross Parcel between two next week, then hope for the best. More are expected soon. I don’t seem to get many fag Parcels will you enquire about this at your next meeting. I’ve only had two from you since capture. one from Hallaway’s, one from that unknown lady and one from the Relatives Society. I am in good health and Spirits hoping you are ditto Your Loving Son. Leslie.
