Dear Ma,

Can you send me some coloured silk for embroidery work it will help to pass on the time. Everything is O.K. at this end and I hope it is at yours. I have just got an airforce uniform issued to me. can you have some cigs sent to me through the Makers, any kind will do. We are terribly short here. Winter is beggining [sic] to set in but it isn't too cold yet and we still get some sun although all the Hills around have had snow on them for the Past four weeks. I hope shirley is well again after her cold. We had a grand dance last night but no girls were there it was funny to see men dancing with men, and some could’nt do the ladies steps and go [sic] tied up trying. I'm still getting mail from Manchester and London O.K. My wounds are completly [sic] Healed up now and [indecipherable word] only one or two small scars to show I've Had anything wrong with me. from different lads mail I'm Pleased to Hear you are Having Plenty of quiet nights again and Hope it is kept up.

Your Loving Son

Leslie.
