Airman Killed on His Birthday
His father, Sergeant G. H. Luxford, also in the R.A.F., was among the mourners at the funeral at Shiregreen Cemetery, yesterday, of Sergeant Bomb-aimer Alan George Luxford, who lost his life on active service on his 20th birthday. His home is at 12 Champion Close, Sheffield.

The interment was preceded by a service at St. Cuthbert's Church, conducted by the Rev. H. McIntyre (Vicar of St. Chad's).
Before joining up, Sergeant Luxford was on the staff of Thos. W. Ward, Ltd., whose directors and staff as well as the Firth Park A.T.C., were represented at the funeral.
